mmMarmite

I'm in the love Marmite camp, and the love Guinness camp, so I was delighted when I saw that there would be a limited edition Guinness Marmite. I'm sure the idea turns the stomach of many, but I guarantee that if you like Marmite you'll love this. Not quite as salty as the normal Marmite, with a smoother, yeastier taste and a definite beeriness. I've got hold of a bottle of it, and there are some photos on my Flickr stream.

I have never tried Marmite. Whereas it does not sound tasty to me at all, I will reserve judgement since I thought neither haggis nor brown sauce sounded good (and I liked both of them when I tried them!).

What do you put marmite on?

And why aren't you wearing a shirt in those photos? And by a shirt, I mean the generic American meaning of shirt, which can include a button down, a t-shirt, a polo shirt, etc.

Don't worry, I wasn't taking salacious photos. I have a t-shirt on in a couple, but I just wanted to see what the pictures looked like with lower contrast. Hopefully even the Victorians wouldn't be offended by a bit of shoulder?

Marmite's slogan is "you either love it or hate it". The flavour is very difficult to describe, but it's very savoury, salty and yeasty, with an almost beefy taste to it. The ideal delivery system for Marmite is toast. Butter and a very thin spread of Marmite = savoury heaven.

I think the Victorians were offended at everything, even a modest show of shoulder or ankle.

However, as it has been decided that you are of course taking your modeling head-shots, I think you're saying to a prospective casting director that you most certainly are not Victorian...

I'll have to give Marmite a try next time I find myself in Scotland.
