Mick Hill

Yesterday saw a rare alignment of the planets, which resulted in Mark, Claire, Niall, Simon and I being in the same room at the same time. Fortunately for us all, this particular room was the popular drinking establishment Ma Camerons.

Simon requested that we comment on the evening, so here goes: I had some nice fish-cakes with some nice chips and the usual meaningless plate-filling salad garnish. The beer was nice to excellent, as was the company. Witty and sparkling banter featured topics as broad as Marxism, Egrets, the mechanics of French mathematical grammar, and international politics. Simon, of course, dragged all of this into the gutter by changing the subject to fecal matters at the most inopportune moments.

There you are, Simon. You must now reciprocate with a post on Fatima Whitbread.

Oh, and here’s something that we talked about last night that deserves a wider audience: the blog of Stephen Fry, who only a fool would argue against being one of the 100 greatest Britons ever.
